This way is better, because you can add multiple folders and all old/new files from these folders will be played - and you can disable some folders temporary in Preferences, to play only pictures from some folders, only new and so on.

You can create hotkeys for previous/next visualization, but it works only with random option disabled now (perhaps a bug), you can pause, zoom, switch audio, mute (if you don't want audio), play in window, fullscreen, external display automatically. Now create new playlist/album, use any option, add audio files and play (or just drag & drop any audio files or playlist and play) > Playback > Visualization > use options: Enable, Type - Slideshow, Add (to add folders with pictures), time, Slide effect - Random, Random slideshow (don't use display album art option)

PotPlayer (free) - it's a video player, but it's possible to view images (without effects), or set the folders in preferences to play with audio as visualization, with effects: XnView (Windows non-MP version) is able to create slideshow with folders, so if you add new pictures to these folders, it's automatically added to slideshow, but it's broken in the latest version, or because of Windows 10, it was working earlier, it's a bug. However recently I noticed that this resets from time to time and goes to one picture / slideshow over only some of the pictures that Windows has. You can't zoom, but you can pause (Space), go to prev./next image (left/right arrow keys) and stretch small images. 2 Comments on Set Windows 10 background slideshow script in Powershell I have set with every installation of Windows 10 with my profile a slideshow to change picture from a folder every X minutes. Now just click OK to start now, or Save. Settings tab > use options you need: timer, size, random, loop, stretch, effects, audio.
